Sha-En Yeo

Positive Psychology Expert

Sha-En Yeo is Singapore’s first Happiness Scientist. First trained as a teacher, she undertook a Masters of Applied Positive Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania in 2010 to understand how to create positive environments for communities to flourish. During that time, her life-changing takeaway was the simple revelation that happiness is, in fact, learnable.

For almost a decade since, Sha-En has taught more than 10,000 people in Singapore, Philippines, and Australia about the science of happiness. Using practical, research-based strategies, she has helped students, teachers, organizations, and everyday people transform their perspective to uplift their well-being and become happier and more confident.

Sha-En’s empathetic approach is shaped by her experience of as a victim of bullying when she was in school. Through the counsel of a dedicated teacher, Sha-En was able to journey from feeling miserable to resilient. Now, as a working parent of two daughters, Sha-En also understands the struggle to be present for both her family and career. Like the teacher who inspired her many years ago, she aims to help fellow working parents understand how they can actively become happier and more fulfilled in their lives.
